‘The smallest act of kindness is worth more than the grandest intention.’
When we receive a little note or card in the post, it means so much to us. There’s something about the written word that somehow gives these words so much more meaning. I think this is what really defines the word heartfelt.
It’s not like an email or message that disappears from sight as soon as it has been read, letters and cards carry much more emotion. We tend to put these little notes somewhere we can see them and be reminded, even subconsciously, that someone has thought of us. Even after some time has passed we might struggle to part with them and store them away to be kept in a safe place for future reading.
It’s an easy way to spread a little love, just know that if you were to send a little note to someone you care about today, their tomorrow would be a little brighter. Kindness is definitely the coolest ✨
Don’t forget to breathe. Life runs away with us sometimes, commitments to work and family mean that it can be hard to find the nirvana that everyone refers to as balance. It can be hard to put yourself first when you feel as though you are being pulled in so many different directions, all at once.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
We all know that we should be kind to ourselves when we can and that this can actually have a positive effect on how we manage all other areas of our life. Keeping on top of the stress by taking a moment for ourselves, maybe taking a walk, reading for pleasure, just finding some head space within. It can do us so much good, it’s food for the soul. Take a moment to breathe, you’ve earned it. ✨⠀⠀
Passion for Candles
The word candle comes from the Latin word candēla, to shine. The ritual of lighting a candle has been around for thousands of years and is thought to have originated from the Ancient Egyptians. By the 13th century, candle making had become a craft in England and France.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Candles hold a special place in our heart. We use them to remember the people we love by lighting them in churches and other places of religious worship. We also light candles to celebrate birthdays and joyous events. It’s pretty amazing to think that these creations of wax and cotton have become so synonymous with marking the most important moments of our life.
